In this highly interactive presentation, participants explore the practices of planning, persisting, and pursuing to increase success in future hard conversations about any topic -- professional or personal.
Listening With PresenceThis workshop reviews basic listening skills and levels, and then goes further. Use practices such as conscious embodiment, believing mind, and mindfulness to experience how and when to stay calm and open to another’s message, even when our initial reaction is to shut down.
Expressing My TruthIn this workshop, participants practice asking for what they need and want, clearly and peacefully. Much of the workshop is spent in practice situations, with many opportunities for reflection on patterns of attention and behavior that participants recognize in themselves.
Managing Everyday Conflict: Interest-Based NegotiationThis workshop provides an overview of conflict management using a process called interest-based negotiation (seeking win-win). Discuss the characteristics of conflict, the steps in managing conflict effectively, and the process of using interest-based negotiation to resolve conflicts. Participants will have a chance to apply the process and tools to real-life conflicts they may be experiencing.
